Although the date for the next charity Scottburgh Classic Car Show has been set for Sunday 8 July 2018, it might not take place due to the lack of resources.

This popular show would be in its ninth year and has raised many hundreds of thousands of rands for local charities and public service organizations.  It has brought thousands of enthusiasts to Scottburgh every year to enjoy a day of fun and nostalgia. But the show has grown so much that the management committee, comprising three septuagenarians, cannot continue without additional support from business and the community.

Firstly, we need able-bodied younger people not only to help run the show on the day but also to assist with the many tasks that are associated with the show’s planning during the preceding months..

Secondly, the show’s expenses have grown significantly since inception and we need a sponsor to partner with the Rising Sun community newspaper, which has sponsored the past seven shows.

Thirdly, a specialist in IT is needed to manage the SCCS website and introduce programmes to improve the running and promotion of the event.

The SCCS management is hoping that volunteers will come forward, preferably in an honourary capacity, to ensure that the Show continues to grow for the benefit of the charities, the community at large and all the many stakeholders.

If you can assist with any of the above activities, please contact Peter Fielding at jagmg@telkomsa.net – Thank you.
